How To Get Wavy Hair

I don’t by any means claim to be a beauty guru. But there is one thing I do know… and that’s wavy hair. Time and time again we’ve seen wavy hair make a comeback. Whether in a messy bun or completely down, wavy hair is sooo in.

At the Target fashion show (have you seen the commercials?!) we saw so many great wavy hair looks. From glamourous waves to messy waves, the models were rocking the fun textured look and seemed so confident! I feel like a messy wave totally does that to you. There’s something powerful about that hair style. It’s like a we pretend we’re Blake Lively the second we step out of the house. Or maybe that’s just me. 😉

How do you achieve these messy waves, you ask? It’s so simple. Creating waves is all about texture. My hair is naturally coarse, so it’s a lot easier for me to get a wave. Fine hair girls, don’t you worry: there are so many great texture sprays out there! Check out these from Target
1) Wash your hair and add a great volumizer while your hair is wet.
2) Air dry or rough blow dry (with your fingers) your hair.
3) Add a texture salt spray or wave spray to damp hair, then continue to tease and dry.
4) Once completely dry, grab a 1.5 inch curling iron and wrap small sections of your hair around the barrel. I even open the clamp and wrap around the inside barrel.
It’s that simple, people. Feel free to send me your questions about wavy hair! I’ll help a sista out!

  1. I LOVE these wavy hair looks! It is the best hair look, hands down. It's sexy but without trying hard at all. I have "wavy" hair…and by "wavy," I mean frizzy. I need to work on my technique, thanks for the tips!

  2. I love your soft waves Devon! That skirt is seriously gorgeous as well.
