Bridal Skin Care: My Routine

Your epidermis is showing. Today I’m veering off the general fashion/home topics to discuss something I’ve been trying to work on. I’m talking about skin care. I’ve never been a big skin product girl, but I know my skin is something I need to start taking care of. So, few months back my dermatologist and I came up with a routine that worked for me. Today I wanted to share my skincare routine as well as some additional steps I take to keep my skin as fresh as possible.

First and foremost, if you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t tried Neutrogena makeup wipes, well, you need to. Seriously these wipes will change your life. I feel gross when I don’t use a wipe to remove my makeup each day! Once my makeup is removed, I wash my face with Skin Ceuticals cleanser. I’ve used Skin Ceuticals for years and firmly believe it got me through my younger years with little to no acne. Next, I put on any extensive treatment mask (once or twice per week) like Philosophy’s Lasting Hope — this leaves my skin so bleeping moisturized and hydrated, it’s crazy. It literally takes 3 minutes! I would highly recommend Lasting Hope.

Once I have used my Lasting Hope, I dry off my face and moisturize. In the morning, I’ll use this drugstore CeraVe — nothing fancy but is great for the skin — and at night CeraVe PM moisturizer. After I moisturize, I apply a thin layer of L’occitane’s amazing new product, Divine Extract. It’s an anti-aging cream that I swear by. The Divine collection by L’occitane is realllly good, ya’ll. It’s a little on the expensive side, but totally worth it.
Next is the lip treatment. Rachel Parcell got me hooked on this regime of Lush lip scrub + balm. You will never feel lips as soft as your own after using these Lush products. I kid you not. Oh, and if you’re hungry, the scrub is edible. Yum Yum!

I mentioned that I do either a peel or mask once or twice a week. This is another one of my favorite masks, Resurface Microdelivery Peel. I swear this product is Heaven. You will never believe how smooth, hydrated, silky, and fabulous can be until you try it.
Finally, my favorite body lotion is this Radiance by Burt’s Bees. It’s so hydrating and makes your skin truly radiate. I know it sounds cheesy, but it does. Radiance is something you want to have, especially on your wedding day! With mine only a few months away, I’m constantly trying new products out now while I can. Several estheticians and my dermatologist said to avoid trying new products and/or facial treatments 1-2 weeks prior to your wedding. Obviously. No one want’s a chemical peel face for their big day!
I hope this post helped you discover new awesome products and learn a bit. Please let me know if you have any questions πŸ™‚ I want to try more products, so I’ll obviously let you guys know how it goes!

  3. Thanks for sharing your thought and it’s really helpful. Selecting a cleanser with a balanced PH will help maintain skin's natural balance and for me the best facial cleanser is Sakare’s cleansing products.
