Mixing Masculine + Feminine Furniture..

If you’re even the slightest bit interested in decorating your home, and you live with a significant other who, let’s be honest, has the complete opposite taste — this post is for you. I’m sure you have struggled, maybe even fought with your boo about your girly (or opposite) decorating ways. I know I have. I mean, why can’t everything just be all mongolian fur, lucite chairs, pink pillows and mirrored furniture? In my life, let’s just say that can’t be the case. And you know what? I’m okay with it. I’m learning how to embrace the combination of my feminine and his masculine styles and dare I even say LOVE the outcome. Today I have put together some inspiration for your mixing pleasure.

Let me preface this post by first letting you know that just this time a few years ago, I thought wood was the devil. You wouldn’t see me near anything short of a white lacquer or fabulous lucite. A wooden table and chairs? Psh. Not touching with a 10 foot pole! Brown.. brown… leather? I called it cruel and unusual punishment. Funny how times change (aka getting married and mixing feminine + masculine styles) and how I’ve honestly grown to rejoice in the idea of white lacour AND wood. I’ve come to enjoy and appreciate all types of styles as I learn more about interior design. I firmly believe once you stubborn little ladies (hey, I was one!) see how down right awesome the styles look together, you’ll catch my drift. Because you can mix that mirrored side table up in a masculine way. It can be done!

The power of antlers and wood is amazing. I think we can all agree that mixing in a little masculine touch never hurt anyone! Each home inspires me more. I hope you enjoyed this little dose of home inspo! I’m obsessed.

  1. I faced this same issue when I first moved in with my boyfriend! He wanted brown everything. Literally, everything had to be brown. But, you're right! Mixing masculine and feminine is possible and can look fabulous. I also learned that showing pictures like the ones above really helped him open up to more colors than brown and a little feminine style!

  2. This is a great post! I love the idea of mixing masculine and female tastes, I think it brings something unique and also something totally real! I absolutely LOVE the first photo, with the mixture of mustard yellow and blue!

  3. Choosing the right furniture is probably the most important decision you'll take for your interiors. A furniture can add style and elegant to your living room. Furniture like sofa or rocker recliners are the most wanted pieces. You can try a home leather sofa for your living space or take a look on best recliner reviews.
