Devon Rachel Wedding

I know you have all been waiting FOREVER for me to blog about my wedding. Well, the day is finally here! I’m filled with so many emotions and already crying while writing this. Chandler and my big day was the most special, magical day and I wish I could re-live it 18,000 times over! Luckily, I feel like I get to with this  video + the lovely photos Jana Williams took for us.

Let me first start by saying that I actually kept my composure walking down the isle! I couldn’t believe it. At my shower a few weeks before the wedding, it all hit me and I literally balled the entire shower. Everyone was so worried I would be doing the ugly cry down the isle. Myself included. I kept telling myself to cry afterwords, because duh — photos were being taken! Haha! Luckily, I just thought about how much I love Chandler, and how wonderful it was to look around and see pretty much everyone we love around us. It made me smile so huge (maybe too huge, but that’s okay). Everything was absolutely perfect and the few thing that went wrong just didn’t even matter. It was all about that nugget waiting for me with the preacher and all my best friends. My soul mate, my best friend, the one man in this world who was made specially for me, that’s Chandler. He puts up with so much of my craziness and when I’m stressed out, which is most of the time considering the job I have. That, my friends, is total proof that there is someone out there for everyone. I stand by and firmly believe that.

The ceremony was short and sweet (just like we wanted) and everyone was so shocked that I came up in the glass elevator (including Chandler – another thing I wanted!) All Bridesmaids and Groomsmen walked out a completely different entrance. We all traveled from the amazing rooftop terrace of the Joule where the ceremony was held to one of their great ballrooms for the reception.

It was extremly important to me that we did NOT do a first look. I really believe this is better. I understand with timing it could’ve been easier to do one, but I wanted him to see me for the first time like old traditional style — when I walked down the isle. So after the ceremony, we headed downstairs to shoot in historic Downtown Dallas. It was so wonderful!

Chandler and I really wanted the reception to be a huge party and we wanted our friends to have a great time. We’re big dancing and party people (you know this), so it was important to us to find a fabulous band and dance floor. Limelight, the band, really rocked our worlds. I cannot express to you how much fun they were! From singing our Texas Tech fight song (where Chandler and I met) to singing “Fancy” like a complete pro, they absolutely killed it. The decor was perfect, and there were literally flowers everywhere. You guys know how much I love flowers!

Believe it or not, I did not grow up dreaming about the day I would be married. The one thing I did dream about, however, is having a vintage Rolls Royce take us away. So a beautiful white Rolls Royce with gorgeous flowers adorning the back took us away. It was unbelievable. I was obsessed!

I hope you enjoyed this little bit of my wedding. Get excited because this is the start of many more wedding posts to come! I’m sharing bits over the next month about each part of the big day. There are SOOOO many photos, so get ready!

Thanks so much for following along on this special journey. Head over to Style Me Pretty to see more for now! Love you guys!
