Beauty Routine: Makeup For Day & Night

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love makeup. I may not talk about it as much as I’d like to on here, but I have loved doing make-up since I was a little girl. Fall beauty tends to excite me just as much as fall clothing, so get excited.
I get a lot of questions about my daily makeup routine as well as my night out smokey eye. Today I will answer all of your questions and share a few new fall tricks from up my sleeve. 😉

DAILY ROUTINE:
For my everyday look, I like to keep it natural. I typically start out with a good daily moisturizer before anything else. On top of this I’ll add my Nars Tinted Moisturizer. Next, I apply Benefit’s ‘Boing’ concealer under my eyes. I have grown to really hate heavy foundations (except for on camera) so instead I now use Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Fresh  Hydrating Cream Compact (man, say that 5 times fast). Let me tell you, it’s the best thing I’ve done for my skin in years. I hold off on any foundation/powder as much as possible. Because of this, my skin has cleared up and it allows me to wear very light coverage like tinted moisturizer alone.
At some point in my routine I add Evian Water spray. With all of the traveling I do, it saves my skin. I keep a small bottle in my purse when I’m airport hopping (which seems to be every week these days).
I color my eyebrows in with Anastasia Brow Kit (not pictured) and I’ve used this for years. It has two colors to chose from, which has always been great for me.

I finish off my daily look with Stila cream blush in Peony. I have several different colors of this amazing cream blush. I’m a huuuge fan! When you use a light foundation, the cream blush looks great on your skin.
GOING OUT:
I get so many questions about my ‘going out’ rust colored smokey eye. The color I use is Antiqued by MAC. It’s a favorite of mine and has been for years.
Lipstick break! I love this nude color by Dolce & Gabbana.

When creating my going out look, I add a dark black eyeliner to the eye. I line the top, then line the inside of the bottom and top of my eye. Leave the outer lower lashline bare for now. Add concealer and finishing powder. To create a smudged look, grab a kleenex and hold underneath your eye while lining the bottom lashes with dark/Antiqued eyeshadow.

I wanted to share one of my newest favorite lipglosses. You have to check out Nars lipgloss in Dolce Vita. It rocks my world.

If you follow my blog, you’d know that I am a nail polish hoarder. I absolutely LOVE painting my own nails and find it extremely therapeutic. I typically get a manicure every few weeks and do my own nails in between. I would much rather buy nicer nail polish and do my own nails — it’s cheaper when you really think about it. And the nicer nail polish tends to last longer (most of the time). I really like Dolce & Gabbana’s new polish collection. The polish is durable and lasted a good while before chipping.

I hope you enjoyed some of my makeup tips! All of the products pictured are below.

  1. Great. This article is excellent. I have read many articles with this topic, but I have not liked. I think I have the same opinion with you.

  2. I always love reading your blog…I’ve bookmarked it so that I can come back and read it again and again. Once is not enough to process so much valuable information.
