Learning To Have Life Balance Through Fitness

October 31, 2014

When I’m in LA, I really love to be outdoors as much as possible. Whether I’m roaming around exploring the city or hiking Runyon Canyon, I’m always running around in the sun. I have only recently started practicing yoga (I’m not the best, don’t judge!), and I already feel more calm, centered and stress-free. There are so many awesome outdoor yoga classes in LA, too!

But my favorite way to practice yoga is by myself or with a friend in the grass under the sun at Runyon Canyon (a must when in LA.) It’s also a must for me to remember sunscreen -- It’s super important to use that SPF, ya’ll! Before I hit the mat, I’ll apply Hawaiian Tropic® Sheer Touch Ultra Radiance Lotion Sunscreen. It smells amazing, and keeps my skin nourished and protected at the same time – music to my ears.

By the way, did you know that Chandler even proposed on Runyon? There’s something about the gorgeous view, the beautiful weather and the air that makes you feel instantly de-stressed. Combine this with yoga and I believe you call it Zen.

  1. LA has so many great outdoor spots! Have you tried hiking along Newport Coast? It's absolutely beautiful! I've been meaning to try yoga for sometime now, and didn't even know outdoor yoga existed! Love that you're spreading the healthy lifestyle message!

  6. Awesome pics! I love yoga, too, but have become obsessed with PiYo (I like to consider it fast paced yoga)...more sweating and moving but lots of strength training and stretching. If you haven't tried it, it's to die! In general, though, anything you do that makes you focus on your body in very concentrated doses has got to be a good thing, right?

My hubs is from southern Cali--not enough rain for this east coaster, but I definitely can see the appeal in these pics!
