Going along with my previous post about the amount of outfit changes each fashionista has during NYFW, I am sharing the second part of my day in a warmer look. I realized just how cold it was in NYC while wearing those thin leather pants, so I decided to throw on a pair of wide leg denim from J Brand (complete with Vince booties underneath for warmth). Truly, the only way to combat the freezing temps is by layering the heck out of your clothes. So I decided to pair my semi light Burberry trench with a warm cape. You can call me Little Green Riding Hood!
Many of you asked about this old green cape (Old Faithful, perhaps?) that I’ve had for years (seen on the blog here & here) and scored on sale at Anthropologie. Unfortunately, it no longer exists online, but lucky for you I have found several other great cape options for you to explore and layer with! Now… on to my day!
After changing clothes and feeling a lot better about my body temperature, I headed off to the Cynthia Rowley store in Soho for a fitting. And I need to give you a side note: during this day, we saw several patches of ice and black ice. One of those large patches of black ice happened to be waiting for me as I jumped out of my cab, and let’s just say it wasn’t pretty. It was like a movie. I saw the whole thing happen before my eyes. Picture my husband saying “Noooooo” in slow-mo. I hopped out of the cab and down I went. SMACK down in Soho! Only me. #DevonDown
I recovered, thankfully, with no major injuries and resumed the crazy day at a much slower pace. After the fitting in Soho, we jumped to the Marissa Webb show, which was amazing and one that I’ve been dying to see. Marissa Webb (the new creative director for Banana Republic) is one of my favorites and has the whole effortless tailored layering thing down to a T. The show made my heart sing, basically.
Since we were down in Chelsea for Marissa Webb, my husband and I (well, let’s be honest — heavy on the I) did a little shopping at Theory and a few other great stops. Following the shopping, there were a few meetings followed by dinner and we called it a day. A cold, cold day.
Stay tuned for Day 2! xx
