Bridesmaid Remix: 5 Tips For Wearing The Dress Again

It’s one of the most famous old sayings. Your best friend
tells you, “See, it’s perfect. And you can just shorten it and wear it again!”
But when do we really wear it again? Well, today I’m sharing a few tips on how
you can transform that pretty bridesmaid dress into an outfit for everyday.  And why you should invite your friends over to
join in on the fun!

Tip 1: Ditch the up-do and stick to a more casual hairstyle. The last time you wore this little number, you most likely had a dressier hairstyle to boot. Ditch whatever that style may be and try something more casual like a fishtail braid or soft waves like mine.
Tip 2: Replace the matching bridesmaid heels with fun flats that will keep the look feeling casual. If you are re-mixing a long dress and had a little too much fun on the dance floor all night (been there done that) with shredded dress ends, as corny as it sounds just take your dress to a tailor and shorten it a bit.
Tip 3: One of my favorite ways to both dress down and/or add shape to an outfit is through belting. Just belt it! I picked a thin, simple gold style but would also love to see something even more fun like a chain bohemian option.

Tip 4: Add something fun on top like suede, leather or some other textured jacket. Even if the piece is draped over your shoulders, it will add a chic feel to the look and keep you warm at night in the process.

Tip 5: If you’re daring, throw on a cute blouse that can be
hidden with a belt at the waist, transforming the dress into a skirt. Maxi
skirts are all the rage and whether your dress is tulle, chiffon, lace, etc. it
will stand out and could make for a killer look! Obviously this doesn’t work
for every dress, but I highly suggest taking time to play with options. Why not
invite a few friends over for wine and outfit options. It would make for a
great girls night!

  1. So pretty but there is no doing that with my bridesmaid dress! haha I wish though. I am considering chopping the top off and making a tulle maxi out of the bottom. ;D
