2 Ways To Style Cropped Black Denim

It all started when I saw a girl in a pair of fabulous cropped black denim – I of course tapped and asked, “who makes those killer jeans?”. To my surprise, she replied, “Madewell“. You guys- these fit her like an absolute glove and definitely looked a LOT more expensive. I was shocked. Not that I don’t love Madewell because I most certainly do, but I never knew how great their jeans fit and looked on nearly every body type. I have to admit, sometimes I’m a denim snob and I definitely stand corrected.

Anyway, fast forward to NYC after I scoured the Madewell at the Grove for these particular denim and left with 3 additional pair. I wanted to share how easy it is to dress them up and down like I did for meetings and shows during NYFW. Because you, too, can make jeans under $100 look like a million bucks. And it’s so much easier than you think!

We had a couple of hours of free time, so I threw on this fun look to stay cool while shopping around in Soho. I love the gingham shirt tied up with these higher waisted pants. It’s flattering and cool for crazy hot temps like we had.

To dress things up a bit, I slipped into my favorite manolos and added a blouse with fun sleeves and texture (see thru, so I wore a cool Anine Bing lace bra). Oh, and the cutest Sophie Hulme bag you ever did see!

Fashion has changed and jeans can be dressy, people. It’s a beautiful thing!

  1. I have definitely heard that Madewell makes great jeans. I haven't tested it out for myself, though. So far my favourite brand of jeans are American Eagle. I love the stretch. I think you styled these wonderfully. I love the elevated look with the heels. If you said they were different jeans, I would have believed you!
