Hello readers! First things first- I would like to thank the owner of Indigenous Imports, Regan, for allowing me to shoot some photos in such a unique and amazing store. If you are from the Lubbock area and haven’t visited, I suggest you change that. Inside you’ll find a wide array of eclectic clothing and accessories that you are less likely to see walking down the street on every single girl. Upstairs you’ll find vintage furniture galore! If you aren’t from this local area, check out the Indigenous Imports facebook page- they ship everywhere!

On a different note: today I was more inspired than usual. It could be because I added a sick inspiration board above my desk in my room- go figure! I guess it is doing it’s job. 🙂 Anyway, I was reading countless magazines and websites studying the trends for Spring 2011 when I stumbled upon an old yet ever so classic picture of Olivia Palermo. It reminded me of how much I admire the stylish chick. Yes, I know we all hated her character on “The City”, but lets be real… the girl can create a mean outfit. And for that, I am utterly obsessed with her choice of dress at (pretty much) all times.

Back to the old picture: Olivia’s creative way of mixing stripes with completely unexpected prints proves that she is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the fashion world. So I took her idea of stripes paired with a bold print and made it my own. I decided to challenge the stripes with a bold necklace instead. The outcome, I feel, could be described as “organized chaos”. Its definitely an oxymoron, but I’m alright with that.

Today, I challenge you to go out and get inspired. By inspired, I do not mean copy. Simply take a look and add your unique touch. You’re sure to turn some heads.

Have a fashionable day!

Dev
