It’s Gettin’ Hot In Here

At my current internship, there are times where I may have to be outside for 3+ hours. And unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know it is abnormally hot in the South this summer, especially in Texas. Luckily, I was forewarned that I’d be outside for a lot of the day today, so I decided to put together a light (but still business professional) look. This is sometimes a challenge for me. My range of appropriate work clothing is wide, but what I consider “light and airy” is a pair of cut off shorts and a flowy top with wedges. Not exactly something I could waltz through my office sporting. Yes, I could have chosen a dress and been done with it, but for some reason I’m always drawn to the styling of multiple pieces. Don’t get me wrong- there are definitely times when a throw on dress is necessary, but for day-to-day dressing, I live for the challenge of pairing pieces. That could be because of my love of trying a zillion things on to find the perfect pairing… (is it me or is this when you re-discover the BEST things you forgot you owned?)
Anyway, I came up with the pairing of my new New York & Company chinos (that are light, I  must mention) and a ruffle-y green top from JC Penney. These sandals I’m wearing are surprisingly super comfortable, too. In the end, I successfully made it through my hot day. I can’t say the same for my make-up, I’m afraid. But that is a whole different story.
Have a fashionable day.
