Step 1. Round Brush Blow Dry: I like to let my hair air dry for around half an hour before I go into blow drying. If you’re in a hurry, or prefer to not air dry, just blow dry your hair without a brush. You’ll want the hair to be a little damp still, though! Using a large round brush, curl hair under at the ends. This tutorial on blow drying with a round brush is great if you don’t know how! Oh, and by the way I’m obsessed with my new Amika blow dryer! Coming from someone who is super picky when it comes to blow dryers (I like power, people!) I cannot believe I’ve found one with the perfect balance of power: not too extreme, just right. I’m not trying to blow my face off here!
Step 2. Straighten Hair: Once you’re done with blow drying, grab your straightener! Yes, you are witnessing straight hair on me. Straight hair was extremely rare in the past, but with this new sleek slim straightener from Amika, I’m bringing straight back! Straighten your hair from the roots to about 3 inches from the bottom. Be gentle with the straightener, you don’t want to get any creases!
Step 3. Curl Under Ends: Okay, this part may take you a few times to get the hang of (it did for me, at least). In the previous step, I said to stop around 3 inches from the bottom of your hair. At this point, start to make a downward motion with your hand, curling the ends under. It is important to start from the 3 inch mark so it doesn’t look weird. The picture helps with explaining. Keep the gliding motion you had when you straightened, just motion the straightener by flipping your wrist.
Step 4. Pinning: Simply pull a small section of the front of your hair back on the right side. Secure with pin. Pretty much like the “half up half down” look.
Step 5. REPEAT 4, left side.
Step 6. BAM! Pulled Back Pretty!
Gorgeous – I think I'm going to try it with my new shorter hair and see how it works…thanks for the tutorial! 🙂
