My Christmas Decor Around The House

I am freaking out and so excited to share my decked halls with you guys! After collecting various items for a couple months (and thanks to a couple years of Christmas decor hoarding), I finally made my Christmas elf Chandler help me make it jolly up in hurr. I wanted things to be “less is more” this year, which is so different from my previous 3 years of sharing holiday decor with you. I find as I get older, my style evolves and my taste gravitates more to simple, organic and modern; in my clothing and my home. I can’t deal with the clutter so I am trying to attack it room by room, but that’s for another post.

How cute is this plant we found last weekend? I’ve been looking for the right one for this planter from Modernica, and this one definitely makes me happy! I basically threw little lights everywhere and called it a day. ๐Ÿ™‚

Chandler and I went on quite the adventure putting the finishing touches on everything last weekend. In fact, it’s pretty comical and I actually got some of it on video – more about that coming soon ๐Ÿ™‚
This year I decided I wanted all live everything.  Then we bought all the lights it takes to make it happen, actually placed the lights and we were like, fake is looking pretty nice right now. But there’s something about having a real tree, garland and wreaths that puts you in that childhood Christmas state of mind.

The brown stockings are from Pottery Barn last year on a major major sale (thanks Mom!) and white are 3 years old from West Elm. I’m so picky when it comes to stockings I just don’t bother if what I have somewhat vibes with the theme. I know, I’m nuts.
I also found this cute Charlie Brown tree this weekend at Lowe’s and fell in love. It was only $20 and I happened to (hoarder) have these cute red balls from Joann’s – YES I’m serious. Run. Don’t walk.

Most of my ornaments are vintage. I love hunting for them! I’m going to the Rose Bowl this weekend and hopefully stocking up on more. Over the course of moving around from TX and CA over the past 4 years, I’ve lost some good ones. But if you want something more unique for your decor, definitely go vintage.

For the last couple of years I’ve wanted a basket instead of a treeskirt, and this is the closest we’ve come to getting it right. I bought 3 huge awesome baskets from HomeGoods and we ended up cutting an old dinky one because the tree stand was so huge. Hah! I’m going to add a little fluffy white skirt to hide the legs eventually.

I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did putting it together! It’s kind of a work in progress and I’ll most likely tweak along the way, but that’s what makes it fun and festive! Let me know what you think in the comments below and if you have any questions!

    1. Isn't it cute? I actually purchased from Dot & Bo which is no longer in business… I would try Wayfair, All Modern.com, Hayneedle.com and go to the bar cart section then filter all black. That's your best bet! xoxo
