My Morning Routine

Am I the biggest creep
ever or is the ‘Morning Routine’ something everyone obsesses over? Besides
what’s in people’s bag, I’m most interested in how they start their day. With
that said, I wanted to give you a little glimpse into mine (although it is ever

6: 30 I’ve mentioned
before that I’m trying to transform into a morning person, and I am proud to
say (Chandler can vouch) that with a few adjustments, I have become much more
pleasant in the AM. So I’ll set my alarm for 6:30 and let’s be real, I’ll wake
up by 7:00am. I know it’s bad to snooze but I do. #SorryNotSorry

7:00-7:30 ish Stella has finished her pouncing (does anyone else’s cat wake them up walking all over?) and I’m up on my iPad or iPhone checking urgent emails and of course Instagram, Snapchat, Bloglovin’ & all that important stuff. Then I’ll stretch and try to meditate for 10 minutes.

8:00am: I typically get started in my home office at this time, scheduling social posts, checking emails & making sure my blog post for the day is out and promoted.
8:30: If I’m feeling down or out, I listen to Joyce Meyer and she lifts me back up.

8:45: I’ll hop in the shower and do one of the most important steps, which is to moisturize. I’ve recently started using Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer and I love it because you use it right out of the shower while your skin is still wet. It locks in that vital moisture and makes a huge difference in how my skin looks and feels.

8:55: After completing my skincare routine, I throw on few swipes of mascara, blush, bronzer and put on my eyebrows and call it a day. Then I get dressed.

9:00: I try to make a healthy breakfast every morning because it keeps me sane and recharged. My favorite is a whole wheat English muffin topped with peanut butter and bananas. De-lish.

9:30: After I eat, if it’s
a shoot day I go right into styling – I have to make sure everything is ready
to go for shoots as we typically do more than 1 a day. If it’s a stuck to my
computer day, I go sit down at my desk and lock myself in. Ha!
And there you have it, a
little glimpse into my morning routine. What is yours like?

  1. What I like about the idea of getting up early is that you can do all those things to get put together and do all the little upkeep you need to do before you get into the meat and potatoes of your day. And you can do it all before the start of the typical work day!

    What is hard is getting enough sleep and being consistent. When do you go to bed? Because if I consistently only got 6 hours or less it would definitely show.

  2. Your kitchen is just the most darling! So bright and clean looking! My morning routine is pretty rushed as I am so not a morning person. I need to get better about waking up earlier and going to be earlier, but it just never happens!


  3. I find it interesting you listen to Joyce Meyer. I like her to. I'm more a morning person. Trying to get my husband up is another story.
