Jonathan Simkhai Preview

I was so delighted to preview the Jonathan Simkhai with Alex while in NYC! Out of all the previews, this was definitely my favorite. Simkhai's use of straight lines and slight pops of pastels seriously won my heart. His looks are so minimalistic yet incredibly creative and chic. Basically, I'd wear every single piece in his collection for Spring. And the models were so cute, I'd like to have one of each as my little fashion barbies. We definitely love him over at Taylor Jacobson!

I recently found out that the fabulous shoes worn in the preview were actually custom made by Jonathan himself using this amazing site called Shoes Of Prey. You can make your own custom pair of shoes, too! His designs were inspired by the Dogtown/Z-Boys skate movement at Venice Beach in the 1970s. Jonathan's design inspirations all come from this time period and are sometimes derived from vintage skateboards. Pretty radical, dude.

Even more reason for me to love everything Jonathan brings to the table! Overall it was a perfect night with a perfect new collection. Stay tuned for more designer previews. :)
