Devon CruseI started Devon Rachel in January of 2011 as a New Years Resolution, and to be honest, it was one of the scariest steps I had ever taken (little did I know, it would be the first of many!) During my junior year of Business School at Texas Tech (WRECK EM!), I began balancing school; work at a local boutique + a new exciting blog and all of the responsibilities. It kept me motivated, challenged, and gave me the creative outlet I desperately desired in a world of corporate business. I started out on a tripod against a wall outside of my work before eventually getting my first real camera and real husband-potential boyfriend to make drive around downtown alleys of Lubbock, Texas looking for places to shoot. It was great.

A month before graduation, I sat in class worrying about whether the job offers I had were the right fit when I stumbled upon an application to work for Taylor Jacobson. I looked at the requirements: “Must live in LA”. I applied anyway, claiming LA not expecting anything to come of it. Fast forward: it’s 2 days before graduation and an email requesting an interview with Taylor comes through. I took it as a sign that I should follow my dreams and see what would come of it. So with the support of Chandler (my now husband) our family and friends, I packed my bags, got on a Virgin America flight to LA and have been here ever since.

After working for Taylor and gaining experience in the fashion world, I decided to take the big leap to focus on Devon Rachel full time in 2013. It has been a wild, crazy and exciting journey here in LA and I couldn’t be more grateful.

It’s crazy to look back and see that each step of your journey aligned and prepared you for something much greater to come. This blog has given me the confidence to follow my dreams and empower women around the world to do the same, so thank you for being here and following along on this journey.

“I WANT MY WEBSITE TO BE SOMEWHERE YOU CAN GROW, LEARN, BE INSPIRED, FEEL UPLIFTED AND BECOME THE BEST AND MOST STYLISH VERSION OF YOURSELF.”
