Hey party people! Okay, before we talk flowers, I’m excited to show you a little glimpse of my (sort of) new coffee table. Chandler actually got it for me for my birthday, but I have been rearranging (and rearranging, and rearranging) my living room, so I’ll do the big reveal when I’m closer to being finished. We got the coffee table at CB2, one of my favorite places for quality and affordable furniture. My lucite table from this post is from CB2 as well.
Okay, now to the point of this post. I’m obsessed with flowers right now! I’ve had the pleasure of working with so many amazing and creative floral designers in LA, and I’ve been totally inspired by their creations. A few weekends ago I learned from Inessa, a team member of Celadon & Celery and instantly came home to arrange this little number. She taught me that flower arranging is just like a math equation. You’ll need at least 2-3 of each flower, and you place each in a triangular position in the vase. For example, in my little lion vase from Lulu & Georgia, I put a peony by his ear, and then I placed one directly across from here, etc. It’s important to let the flower rest on the edge of the vase. Now, I’m no floral designer, but I really appreciated these tips and it was enough to get this D-I-BUY girl to D-I-Y. I rest my case.
Oh, and did you know this little Lion Container is not really a vase? I decided to change things up and take his crown off to create the vase. I’m all about unconventional, you allllready know.
Coincidence I bought myself today a small bunch of anemones to brighten my living room… I love your flower arrangement & I can understand your flower obsession…
I love it! Anemone are some of my favorite flowers. The lion is adorable as a vase! Speaking of DIYs, I shared a fun valentine gift for friends on my blog!
Where is the floral pillow from? Love, love it!
I love this coffee table, I have the same one! I would have never thought of using the lion head as a vase.. so clever and cute!
