A Healthy Lifestyle

A healthy lifestyle is something I have always strived for. Unfortunately, I tend to let life get in the way sometimes and fall out of routines. I have put my foot down over the past month or so and the positive results are already happening. Today I’ll share some of my personal steps taken towards a healthier lifestyle. Come on this journey, baby!

Working out or being active at least 5 days a week. This doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll be in the gym 24/7. I try to take one day outside exploring LA or hiking one of our many great trails. This is all about a healthy lifestyle change, which is not the way I have looked at it as much in the past. Staying active is key! And having a cute jacket + pants doesn’t hurt. I love this new one by Zella!

Drinking more water. I have made a vow to myself and partially for my skin to drink 3 of my Nalgene bottles a day. That is nearly 100 ounces of water – a goal I always seem to keep on my list. Time to achieve it! I’m taking the 30 day challenge and I can’t wait to see where it takes me.

No More Sleep Timer. I said this previously in my post about my journey to becoming a morning person. I firmly believe this makes a difference in my sleep. And I’m trying to get my 8 hours in as much as possible.

Outfit Details
Workout >> Jacket: Zella // Pants: Zella // Shoes: Nike // Bottle: Nalgene
Bed >> Nightshirt: Honeydew (comes in 3 other adorable colors!)
Green Drink Photo >> Pink Peonies Bracelet – congrats to my sweet friend and new mama on her gorgeous jewelry line!
A green smoothie a day keeps the doctor away. I have officially become a fan of the green smoothie. I get so many nutrients from this little guy and it doesn’t taste terrible! I’ll be honest – I haven’t made many at home because I love walking to my local juicery down the street. Occasionally Chandler will blend us a few. It gives me energy!
Eating less processed foods. I will be upping my intake of fruits and veggies plus reducing the amount of gluten in my diet – all within balance of course. I’m mainly focusing on portions and also paying attention to sodium. This always gets me!

What steps are you taking towards a healthier lifestyle? Let’s do this together!

  1. Go girl! People get so consumed and caught up with calorie counting that they forget what's worse. Calories by definition are what gives your body energy. Its the sugar and sodium that are worse for you. I recently invested in a juicer and it was the best money ever spent.

  2. Great post – very motivating!
    Wish me luck!

Ps- I just started a new blog. It's called Mildly Moody and its aimed towards female entrepreneurs and career IT girls. My latest article is about 7 habits holding you back from success. Perhaps you can take a look when you get a chance?
